FBI To Search For Texas Dems: Cornyn Thanks Trump, Patel For Backing Manhunt Of Runaway Lawmakers
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said Thursday that FBI Director Kash Patel has agreed to assist state and local law enforcement in locating Democratic members of the Texas House who left the state in protest of a Republican-led redistricting effort.
In a statement, Cornyn said Patel had approved his formal request for the FBI to help find the lawmakers, who fled Texas to break quorum and stall a vote on the redistricting proposal.
“I am proud to announce that Director Kash Patel has approved my request for the FBI to assist state and local law enforcement in locating runaway Texas House Democrats,” Cornyn said. “I thank President Trump and Director Patel for supporting and swiftly acting on my call for the federal government to hold these supposed lawmakers accountable.”
Cornyn had posted on X earlier that Patel had "responded to my request to assist..."

Thank you Director Patel for your swift response & action!
Cornyn had sent a letter to Mr. Patel on Aug. 5 urging the bureau to “take any appropriate steps to aid in Texas state law enforcement efforts to locate or arrest potential lawbreakers who have fled the state.”
The Democratic lawmakers left the state to deny the Texas House the quorum needed to pass the redistricting bill, part of a broader political strategy to delay or prevent passage of a congressional map that critics say could entrench Republican control for the next decade.
In his letter, Cornyn also raised concerns about possible misuse of funds by the legislators.
“Specifically, I am concerned that legislators who solicited or accepted funds to aid in their efforts to avoid their legislative duties may be guilty of bribery or other public corruption offenses,” he wrote.
Cornyn emphasized that the matter is time-sensitive, noting that the legislature is in a special session with only two weeks remaining to finalize the map.
On Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) ordered the arrest of the Democratic lawmakers.
“Texas House Democrats abandoned their duty to Texans,” Abbott said in a statement Monday.
“I ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety to locate, arrest, and return to the House chamber any member who has abandoned their duty to Texans.”
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is running for the Republican nomination for US Senate, said he supported the speedy arrest of “jet-setting runaways” who left the state during the legislative session.
“This is cowardice and dereliction of duty, and they should face the full force of the law without apology,” Paxton said in a tweet.
The FBI has not issued a public statement confirming its involvement. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice declined to comment.
The federal role in such a dispute could raise legal questions, as breaking quorum is a tactic that, while controversial, has been used by both parties in recent decades and is typically addressed through state legislative procedures.
Leftists Want To Completely Abolish The Nuclear Family
by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,
Far left Marxists recently hosted an event in Chicago where a panel argued that the traditional family unit needs to be destroyed because it’s “inherently repressive and racist.”
Yes, really. This is what the left wants for America.
Libs of TikTok has the details of the event that was held last month by National Democratic Socialists of America.
A description of the event from their own materials reads as follows:
A description of the event from their own materials reads as follows:
“How should the left relate to the family? Socialist analysis makes clear that the nuclear family form is an inherently repressive, racist, and hetereo-sexist institution that functionally reinforces and reproduces capitalism.”
What on Earth is “hetereo-sexism” and why is it a bad thing?
Is that all? Nope.
“But what does this mean for our organizing, especially when the family form remains a potent organizing structure for many everyday people, and when the Right constantly positions itself as a party of “family values”?
Damn those evil fascists with their… “family values.”
Is a politics of family abolition in tension with a leftist family agenda focused on policies like universal preschool, child tax credits, and more?”
Yes. Clearly it is. What a stupid question.
They want to destroy families so that you will have no support. No one to turn to, other than the State. It's evil.

So, what’s the big deal here? It’s just a few whacked out extremists jabbering among each other right?
Well, no. This is fast becoming the mainstream wing of the Democratic Party.
As I posted a couple weeks ago, Communists and Socialists love to use "Democratic" in the title of their party/country. Since our own Dem party has moved so far left to now embrace such idealogies, the use of this term makes more sense than ever.

Socialism has worked so well in the past hasn’t it.
This is always the first step in a Marxist revolution. These fringe elements, who advocate for the destruction of key societal structures that spark the revolution, only realize they were just the first purge when the communists that take over eliminate them.

Make no mistake, these people represent the complete antithesis of America.

Despite Bostic Fearmongering, Fed's Own Inflation Survey Shows No Signs Of Tariff Tantrum
Well, this is going to become a little awkward...
While some on The Fed believe that tariffs will unleash the worst parts of stagflationary hell on the average American (and therefore they should not cut rates), it appears the 'Americans' themselves are far less concerned.
This morning we heard Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic reiterate that there are reasons to be skeptical that the inflationary effects from tariffs will be temporary.
“This question about whether tariffs are a one-time thing, or whether they’re going to be more persistent in their effects and might even cause structural changes, I think is perhaps the most important question that we have today,” Bostic said Thursday during a virtual discussion organized by the Florida Institute of CFOs.
He further argued that the Trump administration’s aim in imposing tariffs is to reshape US supply chains. The structural changes that result, he said, also raise the risk of a persistent impact.
Governor Christopher Waller (who appears to be the front-runner to replace Powell) has argued the Fed can “look through” the inflation impact of tariffs as transitory.
Waller favored a quarter-point cut last week when his colleagues voted to hold rates steady.
According to the latest data from The New York Fed's Sentiment Survey, Americans (on average) agree with Waller with households' inflation expectations barely moving in July, and still below the levels pre-Liberation Day...
Compare NYFRB's survey to that of UMich's Democrats and one could be forgiven for believing there is a partisan nature to this farce...
Even more risible is the fact that all the underlying cohorts that affect everyday Americans are seeing price fears trend lower...
Furthermore, consumers expect smaller growth in their tax payments and are more optimistic about their household financial situations...
So, the next time The Fed tells you that they are worried about inflation expectations (and the knock on impact to consumer spending) - and that is what is holding them back from rate-cuts - perhaps ask them about their own data... and the fact that it shows no fear among Americans.

Tandem Diabetes Voluntary Medical Device Correction for Select t:slim X2 Insulin Pumps
Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. (Nasdaq: TNDM) has announced a voluntary medical device correction for select t:slim X2 insulin pumps to address a potential speaker-related issue that can trigger an error resulting in a discontinuation of insulin delivery.
The error, which appears as a Malfunction 16 alarm to the user, will stop insulin delivery and terminate communication between the insulin pump and the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device. If not addressed, this could result in hyperglycemia due to discontinuation of insulin delivery, real-time CGM Estimated Glucose Values, and CGM trends. In severe cases of hyperglycemia, the user may require hospitalization or intervention from a medical professional. There have been 700 confirmed adverse events, defined as a confirmed high blood sugar and/or an event requiring medical intervention, and 59 reported injuries. No deaths have been reported.
Notices were sent directly to impacted customers in the United States (U.S.) between July 22 and 24, 2025 with instructions on what to do in the event of a Malfunction 16. A copy of this customer notification can be found at https://www.tandemdiabetes.com/docs/default-source/legal/company-update/malfunction-16-speaker-issue-tslimx2-qsf0024231.pdf.

MaxCyte rating cut at Blair
William Blair analyst Matt Larew downgraded MaxCyte (MXCT) to Market Perform from Outperform following the earnings report. The company reported a miss and guidance reduction in a strong bioprocessing tools tape, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm attributes the miss to MaxCyte’s customer exposure and less visible revenue profile. William Blair believes the company’s visibility seems lower than peers.
