Senior officials at the Pentagon are said to be mulling options for military involvement in Cuba, CBS News reported on Wednesday, citing anonymous officials with knowledge of the discussions.
According to the report, top military planners are examining possible action against the island, including an army-led air assault campaign that could involve thousands of US soldiers and army personnel.
The officials stressed that neither US President Donald Trump nor the Pentagon have decided to approve the operation, saying that the briefings are not an indication that the operation will go through.
