BioNTech to close 3 German plants

 BioNTech SE revealed in a statement on Monday that it will shut down three of its factories in Germany, with approximately 1,800 jobs to be affected.

The announcement came after the company was unsuccessful in selling the plants, with the Tubingen site to close at the end of 2027, Marburg at the start of 2028, and Idar-Oberstein at the end of 2028.

BioNTech attributed the failed sale to the current harsh market and investment conditions. It further shared that supplementary severance packages will be given to all the affected employees.

Farage: IRGC sending operatives on migrant boats

 Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage claimed on Sunday that he received intelligence information that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is sending its operatives to the United Kingdom via immigrant boats.

Farage reacted to the RAF Fairford air base terror plot on X, praising United States President Donald Trump for being wary of the terror threats posed by the IRGC through immigration. "We were allowing people to come in who may well end up killing many of our own people," he said in a video message.

Farage accused the Labour Party of caring more about international opinion and the decisions of international courts than national security, claiming that there has never been a government in the UK that cared less for the security of its citizens.

Iran denies involvement in UK air base incident

 The Iranian Embassy in the United Kingdom rejected allegations that Tehran was involved in the incident that took place at RAF Fairford, which hosts US troops, on Sunday.

The embassy said in a social media post on Monday that it "categorically rejects and strongly condemns the recent unfounded and malicious speculations published by some British individuals and media outlets attempting to link Iran to [the] arrest of five suspects in the vicinity of RAF Fairford base," adding that such allegations are intended to "fuel Iranophobia" in the UK. It further stated that it will take "appropriate legal measures" if necessary.

The day before, the British counter terrorism police said they are investigating whether Iran was linked to the suspected bomb plot.

'Huang: OpenAI absolutely is great investment'

 Nvidia Corporation CEO Jensen Huang said on Monday that OpenAI "absolutely" is a "great investment," despite the incident with its AI agents that broke containment to hack the open-source AI platform Hugging Face.

Speaking in an interview with CNBC, Huang said that it is a "privilege" to work with OpenAI, and that he would like the AI company to be involved in Nvidia's new project, Open Agent Safety Platform, whether it is by using the platform itself or being inspired by it and creating another similar platform. He also said that he hopes more companies will join the platform, so that it becomes more "robust" and "resilient."

The Nvidia CEO also stated that the safety problems with AI agents are "solvable," and the focus on a rights-provisioning system is crucial. He noted that Nvidia Sentry will be able to monitor the AI agents' behavior because the chip is placed between the agent and the large language model (LLM) and it intercepts "everything."

Saudi Arabia said to target Yemen's north

 Saudi Arabia has attacked populated areas in Yemen's north with artillery shells, the Houthi movement-affiliated Saba News Agency reported on Monday.

The Saudi Arabian military allegedly targeted villages in the north of Yemen's northwestern Razih district.

Earlier in the day, emergency warnings about a potential danger were issued in Saudi Arabia's southern districts of Jazan and Najran.
