Israel strikes Syria-Lebanon border

 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday that its air forces struck four land crossings on the border between Lebanon and Syria, claiming Hezbollah used them to smuggle weapons.

The military also stated that it had eliminated "a key Hezbollah weapon smuggler," Muhammad Awasha, in an attack in Lebanon. It claimed that the individual killed used "a front company that ordered and transferred prohibited goods from countries such as Iraq, Syria, and the Gulf states, while operating smuggling networks moving weapons from Iraq into Syria and Lebanon."

The IDF added that it is closely monitoring Hezbollah's attempts to build up its military capabilities, warning that it will respond accordingly to any violation of "the understandings" between Israel and Lebanon.
