The United States Department of Justice subpoenaed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and several other state officials in a law enforcement obstruction probe, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Saint Paul Mayor Kaohly Her also received subpoenas aiming to determine whether they impeded the recent immigration investigations.
Meanwhile, Walz took to his X profile and invited United States President Donald Trump to visit Minnesota and "see our values in action." However, he vowed that "Minnesota will not be intimidated into silence and neither will I."
