United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan accepted United States President Donald Trump's invitation to join the so-called Board of Peace, aimed at overseeing the ceasefire and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the UAE's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized that the UAE's decision reflects the importance of fully implementing President Donald J. Trump's 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which is critical for the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people," the ministry noted.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thanii revealed that his country had also been invited to join the board, stressing that Trump's plan provided a "path" to peace in the Middle East. "We are happy to be a contributor to peace in the region," he stressed.
