United States President Donald Trump invited Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to take part in his international body called "Board of Peace," aimed at resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip, Kyodo reported on Tuesday, citing the country's foreign ministry.
Citing the board's charter, The Times of Israel reported earlier that nations wishing to serve on the board for longer than three years would need to contribute over $1 billion.
Trump also announced that he will serve as the board's head, with invitations also being extended to several other world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
