European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said on Saturday she will finalize the European Union's €90 billion loan package for Ukraine next week.
She said at the Munich Security Conference that the deal was reached "at an unprecedented speed," adding that the bloc is also preparing its 20th sanctions package against Russia.
The €90 billion package forms part of the EU's longer-term financial support framework for Ukraine, aimed at stabilizing Kiev's budget and sustaining reconstruction and defense needs. Metsola also voiced support for Ukraine's EU membership, which remains blocked by Hungary.
