Putin: New US sanctions on Cuba 'unacceptable'

 Russian President Vladimir Putin stated after a meeting with Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Wednesday that the latest sanctions imposed against the island nation by the United States are "unacceptable."

"We're in a special period now, with new sanctions. You know how we feel about this. We don't accept anything like that," Putin emphasized, adding that Russia has always supported Cuba's sovereignty and independence.

At the same time, the Russian leader spoke positively about the bilateral relations between the two countries, which he said were developing along a "positive track."
