S. Arabia says Iran's allies targeted oil facilities

 Saudi Ministry Defense confirmed on Monday that Iraqi militants aligned with Iran launched an attack on the country's petroleum sites.

Saudi military spokesperson Major General Turki told journalists that air defenses "intercepted and destroyed a number of drones" that attempted to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Region and Riyadh. He stressed that the kingdom reserves the right to defend itself and "respond at the appropriate time and place."

Meanwhile, Iranian agency Tasnim reported that the strikes were a success, engulfing Saudi Arabia's Abqaiq oil facilities, one of the world's most important oil-processing centers, in a massive fire.
