Anthropic’s $131.7 Billion Cash Reserves Trail Only Berkshire Hathaway and Alphabet

Anthropic has amassed $131.7 billion in cash and short-term investments, placing the artificial intelligence company ahead of Amazon, Microsoft and Apple—and behind only Berkshire Hathaway and Alphabet among U.S. non-bank companies.

The nearly six-year-old company disclosed $112.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and $19.3 billion in short-term investments as of June 30 in its initial public offering filing, according to CNBC reporting cited by Seeking Alpha.

Berkshire Hathaway topped the comparison with $365.5 billion, followed by Alphabet at $242.5 billion. Anthropic ranked third, exceeding Amazon’s $123 billion and SpaceX’s $100 billion.

The figures put the scale of Anthropic’s financial resources into perspective. Its reserves exceeded the combined $124.9 billion reported for Nvidia and Apple, two of the technology industry’s most valuable companies.

Other major technology businesses also trailed Anthropic, including Meta Platforms at $90.3 billion and Microsoft at $76.8 billion. Tesla held $43.5 billion, while Oracle reported $31.9 billion.

The ranking highlights how quickly an AI developer has accumulated financial resources comparable to those of companies built over decades. As Anthropic prepares for its public offering, its balance sheet provides substantial financial flexibility in an industry where computing capacity and infrastructure require significant investment.
