Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ruling Likud party issued a statement on Wednesday accusing Arab parties of stealing the elections held yesterday, in which the party obtained the most votes but failed to secure a majority along with its coalition partners.
"The elections in the State of Israel were stolen by Arab parties that support terrorism and the destruction of the Jewish state, through serious criminal offences including bribery, threats, violence, fraud, and the use of prohibited voter-mobilization software," the party proclaimed, stating it is already providing evidence to the police and Israel's internal security agency, the Shin Bet.
According to the latest results, with over 90% of the vote processed, the coalition around Likud is expected to have 53 seats in the Knesset, followed by the opposition bloc around Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot with 48. Arab-led parties are expected to secure 19 seats, likely giving them the power to decide who forms the next government.
