Hunter Biden recycles Bill Clinton asinine ‘definition’ defense

 By Jack Hellner

When Bill Clinton got caught perjuring himself, his defense as to why he committed perjury and said that he “did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky,” was because it depended “on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” And, since he wasn’t getting a BJ in the Oval Office at exactly the same time as he answered the question, he wasn’t really lying.

For Hunter Biden, since he wasn’t smoking crack while he filled out the ATF 4473 form and checked that “no” box saying he wasn’t an “addict” he was actually telling the truth:

This is the crux of his defense — that he did not ‘knowingly’ lie on the federal background check form; he acted honestly, even if he was mistaken or misunderstood the question of whether or not he is addicted to or doing drugs, because he did achieve periods of sobriety, albeit fleeting and almost always ending in relapse.

Hunter’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, has never been concerned about facts any more than the Bidens or the Clintons—or any Democrat for that matter.

When Anthony Fauci said that everything he said was based on science, including the six-foot social distancing mandate, he wasn’t lying; it just depends on what the definition of “science” is.

When 51 former intelligence officers said that the “Laptop from Hell” was Russian disinformation, they weren’t lying, they were just making things up so that America could be protected from President Trump. When the media just repeated the lies, it wasn’t because they were campaigning for Biden; they just wanted to make sure Americans weren’t convinced to vote for the guy who the pseudo-elites didnt want.

When FBI officials committed perjury when they lied to the FISA court, it was just an innocent oversight.

When Loretta Lynch met with Bill Clinton on the tarmac while Hillary was being investigated, it was to talk about the grandchildren and vacations.

When Joe Biden met with Hunter’s business partners, it wasn’t to help him get kickbacks, it was to talk about the weather.

When the media spread lies about teenage boys who wore MAGA hats and labeled them as racists, it wasn’t to gin up racial division and hate and to destroy their lives, it was just an innocent mistake.

When the media showed pictures of kids in cages during the Obama-Biden administration, it wasn’t to spread disinformation that Trump was a racist who hated migrant children, it was just an innocent mistake.

When Hillary set up a private computer server at her house, it wasn’t to violate the law or hide anything criminal, it was just to make things more productive.

When she used BleachBit on her computer and then took a sledgehammer to it, there was nothing nefarious on there, it was purely for sanitary purposes.

The excuses could be endless. Basically, the media and other Democrats are allowed to spread as much misinformation as they like. The only thing that matters to them is electing Democrats.

Doc who blew whistle on TX hospital providing kids gender-affirming care charged with DOJ HIPAA violation

A doctor is facing criminal charges from the Department of Justice after he blew the whistle on a Texas hospital allegedly performing gender-affirming care on minors.

Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon who completed his residency at the Texas Children’s Hospital, was indicted on four counts of HIPAA violations.

Haim has vowed to fight the charges in court.

“They wanted to intimidate me into silence using every technique the federal leviathan had at their disposal. But they failed,” he tweeted on Thursday.

“The only way to lose is to submit to corruption. It’s time to fight back harder than ever!”

Dr. Eithan Haim was charged with four federal counts of violating HIPPA law.
Dr. Eithan Haim was charged with four federal counts of violating HIPPA law.

Haim is “anxious to get to trial to get his side of the story told. I am confident this will result in the correct decision being made,” his attorney, Marcella Burke, told The Post Friday evening.

Haim leaked documents to conservative journalist Christopher Rufo in 2023 that allegedly showed that Texas Children’s Hospital continued performing gender-affirming surgeries on minors in secret against state law.

Rufo, who is also a Post columnist, emphasized at the time that none of the documents he received included the names of the patients.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued an opinion declaring gender-affirming care on minors as a form of child abuse in 2022. Weeks later, the hospital announced that it would stop the procedures.

Haim, however, alleges just three days after Texas Children’s Hospital’s announcement, they implanted a hormone device into an 11-year-old girl for gender dysmorphia, he wrote in an anonymous article published in the City Journal in January.

He claimed that over the next year, the hospital actually increased the frequency of procedures “and potentially hundreds more children received hormone interventions for gender dysphoria.”

After Rufo’s bombshell May 2023 report, the Texas legislature banned drug and surgical sex changes for kids.

The following month, on the day he was scheduled to graduate from his residency at Texas Children’s Hospital, authorities knocked on his door and handed him a letter identifying him as a “potential target” in a federal probe, Haim claims.

Haim is scheduled to appear in court on June 10.

Texas Children’s Hospital did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

NY passes milestone ban on ‘addictive’ social media feeds for children

New York kids’ social media feeds are about to get less “addictive.”

State lawmakers in Albany passed a landmark measure Friday to give parents more control over their kids’ social media usage on apps such as TikTok and Instagram.

The law is almost certain to face a drawn out legal challenge from Big Tech companies, but ultimately could have a nationwide impact on how social media apps deliver content to kids.

“Our children are enduring a mental health crisis, and social media is fueling the fire and profiting from the epidemic,” said New York Attorney General Letitia James, who pushed for the twin bills, in a statement.

“New York state is once again leading the nation,” she said, “and I hope other states will follow suit and pass legislation to protect children and put their mental health above big tech companies’ profits.”

Stop Addictive Feeds Exploitation (SAFE) for Kids Act requires social media companies to verify users’ ages and obtain parental consent to give kids access to algorithmic feeds.

Kids who don’t get parental consent to view “addictive” algorithmic feeds still will be able to see social media content, but in a chronological timeline of posts.

The legislation also gives parents the ability to pause notification on their children’s social media accounts between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m.\\

Another bill, the New York Child Data Protection Act, bars tech firms from selling or otherwise profiting off minors’ data.

Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to sign both bills into law.

Big Tech companies sank roughly $1 million in lobbying efforts to tank the legislation.

Julie Samuels, president and CEO of Tech: NYC, a group that has been lobbying against the legislation, praised the bills’ intent of protecting children — but noted a lot was still in the air about how they will be enforced.

“These bills include some positive changes that will bring them closer to achieving lawmakers’ intention of protecting children online — a goal that Tech:NYC and our member companies support. These changes signal an intention to better tailor the definition of social media, and remove the private right of action,” she said in a statement after the vote.

However, neither the platforms impacted by these bills nor any of the lawmakers voting on them have any clarity on how age verification will work.”

NATO preparing for potential ground war with Russia — including plans for US troop involvement

NATO is mapping out “land corridors” to enable US troops and other allied forces to reach the front lines quicker in the event of a broader European ground war with Russia.

The move follows warnings from NATO leaders earlier this year urging Western governments to prepare themselves for a full-blown war with Russia sometime in the next 20 years.

The newly established troop expressways would see American soldiers landing at one of five designated ports.

They would then be deployed along pre-established routes depending on how a potential attack by Moscow would play out, NATO officials told The Telegraph.

The new routes would expand on existing arrangements that have been in place since last year when the alliance agreed to have 300,000 troops in a state of high readiness during a summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Under the current plans, US forces would land at ports in The Netherlands before being transported through Germany and on to Poland by train.

If Russia was to invade a NATO ally, US troops would be rallied to Rotterdam before heading east, according to the outlet.

Now, the alliance is also preparing to shuffle those troop entry points in the event Russia launches an attack on the Netherlands or destroys ports in northern Europe.

Other plans being drawn up would see US troops arrive at Italian ports and travel by land through Slovenia and Croatia to Ukraine-bordering Hungary.

Troops could also be dispatched to ports in Greece or Turkey before traversing Bulgaria and Romania to reach the eastern portion of the alliance.

On Wednesday, Putin warned that Russia could provide long-range weapons for its allies to use against Western targets, and hinted that Moscow would use nuclear weapons if its authority came under threat.AP

Additional plans have troops arriving at ports in the Balkans, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

“Everything is created in a way so the necessary resilience exists — robustness, reserves and also redundancies,” Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) Lt. Gen. Alexander Sollfrank told The Telegraph of the plans.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ratcheted up his rhetoric in recent days, following the US and Germany both giving Ukraine the green light to use its weapons to attack some targets within Russian territory.

MAIA: FDA OKs Telomerase Inhibitor Agent Therapy

MAIA Biotechnology, Inc., (NYSE American: MAIA) ("MAIA", the "Company"), a clinical-stage company developing telomere-targeting immunotherapies for cancer, today announced the validation of clinical and regulatory pathways for viable therapies leveraging the cell’s telomeric functions as evidenced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of imetelstat, a treatment for low- to intermediate-risk hematologic malignancies (myelodysplastic syndromes) from Geron Corporation.

"MAIA is one of the earliest pioneers of telomere targeting as a therapeutic strategy, and we share in the enthusiasm for the FDA approval of imetelstat for rare blood cancers originating in bone marrow. We have found that telomere targeting as a mechanism of action plays a key role in treating certain cancers, and we are studying this science in our Phase 2 trial of THIO in high-risk non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)," said Vlad Vitoc, M.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MAIA. "Our most recent clinical data shows THIO’s exceptional efficacy in checkpoint inhibitor and chemo-resistant patients in NSCLC. We salute Geron for validating the pathway," concluded Dr. Vitoc.

Telomerase is present in over 85% of human cancers and contributes significantly to the proliferation and reproductive immortality of cancer cells. MAIA’s lead candidate is THIO, a telomere targeting agent in clinical development (Phase 2 THIO-101) to evaluate its activity in NSCLC. THIO is recognized by telomerase and incorporated into telomeres in cancer cells. Once incorporated, THIO compromises the telomere structure and function, leading to ‘uncapping’ of the chromosome ends and thus resulting in rapid tumor cell death.

Bird flu detected in dairy cattle herd in Wyoming

Bird flu was detected in a dairy cattle herd in Wyoming, the state's agriculture department said on Friday.

Bird flu has been reported in more than 80 dairy herds across more than 10 U.S. states since late March. Scientists are on alert for changes in the virus that could signal it is adapting to spread more easily among humans.
