'Baghaei: Germany must bear costs of its role in war on Iran'

Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Esmail Baghaei accused Germany of participating in the war of "aggression" against his country, stating that Berlin should "bear the heavy costs" of its participation in the conflict.

Baghaei responded to a statement by Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul that Iran should pay for the demining of the Strait of Hormuz, which he described as "utterly shameful — a grotesque distortion of reality that reeks of Mephistopheles in Goethe’s Faust."

"No amount of offensive posturing will allow the Berlin regime to evade responsibility for its role in this illegal war and the war crimes committed against the Iranian people," Baghaei concluded in a post on X.

If the Land Was Stolen, Give It Back

Recently, I was invited to attend a Sunday service at a Methodist church rather than my regular church.

The congregation was small, perhaps a few dozen people. Before the service began, the pastor introduced herself, shared her preferred pronouns, and then solemnly informed us that we were gathered on stolen land.

The land, she explained, once belonged to Native American tribes that lived in the area long before Denver existed.

I sat quietly and listened. Then a simple question occurred to me.

If the land was stolen, why are we still sitting on it? To my knowledge, the church owns the valuable piece of property in an upscale Denver neighborhood.

If I knowingly occupy stolen property, I have a moral obligation to return it to its rightful owner. Merely acknowledging that it was stolen does not absolve me of responsibility.

Give it Back, Native American montage

Imagine explaining to the police that you know a car in your garage was stolen but you plan to keep driving it while periodically expressing regret. That defense would not get very far.

Yet this is precisely the logic behind the modern ritual of land acknowledgments.

Over the past several years, universities, churches, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and even sporting events have begun opening meetings with statements recognizing that they occupy land once inhabited by indigenous peoples.

These declarations have become almost mandatory among progressive institutions. They are delivered with great solemnity, usually without anyone asking the obvious follow-up question.

When will you be giving the land back?

The answer, of course, is never.

The contradiction is difficult to miss.

If these institutions genuinely believe they are occupying stolen property, then the moral solution seems straightforward. Transfer the deed. Return the property. Relocate somewhere else.

A church could return its land.

A university could return its campus.

A presidential library could return its grounds.

Yet no one proposes doing so.

Instead, we get speeches.

At the recent opening of the Obama Presidential Center, former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett recognized the “original inhabitants” of the land and honored several Native nations associated with the region.

But if the property truly belongs to those groups, why stop at acknowledgment?

Why not transfer ownership?

Why not place the land into a tribal trust?

Why not demonstrate sincerity through action rather than symbolism?

Everyone already knows the answer. The acknowledgment costs nothing. Returning the property would cost something.

That distinction matters.

The deeper problem is that the entire concept quickly collapses under scrutiny.

Who exactly are the rightful owners?

The history of North America did not begin in 1492. Tribes fought wars, displaced rivals, conquered territory, and pushed competing groups from valuable land long before Europeans arrived. The notion that every parcel of land belonged peacefully and permanently to a single tribe until settlers appeared is historically inaccurate.

Suppose a church in Denver decided tomorrow to return its property. To whom would it be returned?

Which tribe?

The one that occupied the area when American settlers arrived?

The tribe that occupied it before them?

The tribe they displaced?

The tribe before that?

How far back should we go?

History rarely provides clean answers. Yet land acknowledgments assume those answers are obvious.

Human history, unfortunately, is largely the history of migration, conquest, settlement, and changing borders. Nearly every nation on Earth occupies territory that was once controlled by someone else. The Romans conquered Europe. The Mongols conquered Asia.

Take a historical tour of any major European city and learn that borders shifted constantly through wars and treaties. Native American tribes themselves expanded and contracted through conflict, alliances, and migration.

That reality does not justify conquest. It simply acknowledges history as it actually occurred rather than as modern activists wish it had occurred.

The same logical problem appears in discussions of reparations.

Who pays?

Who receives?

No one alive today owned slaves in America. No one alive today was enslaved in America. Yet we are increasingly asked to calculate debts across centuries as if historical responsibility can be transferred indefinitely through bloodlines.

If descendants can inherit grievances, can they also inherit guilt?

Most people instinctively reject that idea.

We do not hold modern Italians responsible for Roman conquests. We do not send invoices to contemporary Mongolians for the destruction wrought by Genghis Khan. We do not demand reparations from descendants of Vikings for their raids a thousand years ago.

At some point, history becomes history.

That does not mean we ignore it. It means we learn from it without pretending we can reverse it.

What strikes me most about modern land acknowledgments is how little courage they require.

Returning land would be bold.

Selling institutional assets and compensating descendants would be courageous.

Sacrificing something tangible would demonstrate conviction.

Reciting a prepared statement before a meeting demonstrates nothing except conformity.

In many cases, the acknowledgment functions less as a historical observation than as a public declaration of moral virtue. The speaker signals awareness. The audience signals agreement. Everyone feels enlightened. Then the meeting begins, and ownership remains exactly as it was before.

Nothing changes.

The irony is that these acknowledgments often reveal less about history than about the modern desire for symbolic absolution. They allow institutions to express guilt without accepting consequences, to display virtue without making sacrifices, and to claim moral seriousness without taking meaningful action.

That may explain their popularity.

Real restitution is expensive.

Symbolic restitution is free.

The next time I hear a land acknowledgment, I may be tempted to raise my hand and ask a simple question.

“When is the transfer scheduled?”

Not because I expect an answer.

But because the answer reveals everything.

If the land was truly stolen, then returning it would be the obvious moral response.

If returning it is unthinkable, impractical, or absurd, then perhaps we should stop pretending that reciting a disclaimer before a church service, university lecture, or ribbon-cutting ceremony constitutes an act of justice.

Churches traditionally teach that repentance involves more than words. It requires action.

If the land was stolen, give it back.

Otherwise, spare us the lecture.

How to Beat Back the Democratic Socialists

New York City’s Democrat primary results set off a political fuse that is causing explosions across

Democrat, federal, state, and local power structures.  The victorious Democratic Socialists of America smoked two congressional incumbents, ended the political careers of Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, and set up the DSA as the kingmaker in the 2028 presidential primaries.

Why did the far left of the Democrat party, represented by the DSA, suddenly amplify its rhetoric from universal health care, oligarchy, and affordability to an intense onslaught against America, Judaism, Israel, and capitalism?  And in doing so, mount a challenge to the Democrat establishment?

The answer is Election 2028.  Democrat leadership shut out the young, radical generation for two decades.  Their voters haven’t had a choice for a president since 2008, when Barack Obama was the left’s lightbringer.  Then the Democrat leadership connived to steal the 2016 and 2020 presidential nominations from socialist Bernie Sanders.

With political strength in America’s largest cities — New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles — it’s tempting to write off the primary results as an urban problem.  The truth is, the DSA members hold over 250 elected offices nationwide.

The DSA and its allies have been training for a power-grab for a decade.  In 2018, it auditioned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her unexpected primary victory over a longtime congressional fixture.  During 2020’s George Floyd “summer of love” primary, a middle school principal of a failing Bronx charter school by the name of Jamaal Bowman beat New York congressman Eliot Engle, then the chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and an ardent supporter of Israel.

Working through AOC’s Squad got copious press but modest headway until the election of Zohran Mamdani, who showed the DSA that openly professing antisemitism, anti-Americanism, and Marxism was a winning combination with no meaningful political consequences.

As a result, the DSA movement is invigorated by an intensity of purpose that would have been political suicide in any other election cycle.

Ahead of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, DSA éminence grise Senator Bernie Sanders voiced the same conclusion: “I believe that it may just be possible that this country is on the verge of the political revolution we have fought for for such a long time.”

Revolutionary movements can leverage small bases.  The DSA carefully selected sleepy Democrat incumbents and used the low-turnout primaries to win.  Four years ago, even two years ago, extolling the “eradication of Western civilization”; being a Nazi-loving, repetitive abuser of women; or openly celebrating the October 7 massacre of Jews by Hamas would have been disqualifying.  No more.  Targeted Democrats who object to these noxious views are being voted out.

What Democrat wants to be humiliated like Scott Wiener, who’s running to replace Nancy Pelosi’s House seat, at a gay pride parade, where he was chased away for being a “genocidal-supporting center right shill”?  Jewish Democrat Brad Lander was willing to condemn Israeli “genocide” to win a Manhattan congressional race over incumbent Dan Goldman, who had the temerity to support Israel, and was even humiliated by a Brooklyn coffee shop owner.

Republicans have a lot of work to do to counter the DSA’s momentum and appeal to cradle Democrats and young, ill educated voters.  They have to raise the level of their game over their standard arguments of enforcing the law, reducing taxes, and responsible governance to connect with Americans who are justifiably nervous about Bernie Sanders’s revolution.

For example, despite being openly loathed by the far left, Jewish Democrats continue to resist voting for Republicans.  Westchester County residents, 20 percent of whom are Jewish, voted for Bowman twice over a distinguished former mayor of Scarsdale and a physician whose parents were Jewish freedom fighters in Eastern Europe, simply because, as one Democrat put it, “I just can’t vote Republican.”  Bowman later disgraced himself with increasingly antisemitic rhetoric and, famously, by pulling a fire alarm to interrupt a crucial House vote.  He was primaried out in 2024.

Other Americans in the cities, suburbs, and heartland are potentially reachable.  Look at the civic and financial ruination that Mamdani is wreaking on New York City.  In Los Angeles, the DSA’s mayoral candidate, Nithya Raman, a Harvard graduate, intends to implement the same agenda.  Whereas willfully ignorant younger voters devour the theme of eradicating Western civilization and free Palestine over policies, most Americans can understand the destructive force of the DSA’s policies on a personal level.

The DSA’s strategy is to defeat, intimidate, and overwhelm.  So far, it is working.  Democrat luminaries are kissing Mamdani’s ring, from New York governor Kathy Hochul to presidential hopeful retread Kamala Harris.

Some Democrat incumbents are distancing themselves from the DSA.  Congressman Thomas Suozzi from Long Island launched “Promise to America” to show his patriotism.  Only ten of his moderate House compatriots and five candidates have joined him.

At the national level, the president, the vice president, and Cabinet members have been effective communicators.  Congressional and gubernatorial candidates have been much less so, because they have failed to elevate their discourse from crime, taxes, and governance.

Working-class families and wavering Democrats are worried.  They are primed for the taking.  Looking at the election results for Hamas-aligned Avila Chevalier’s winning primary results against Bronx dinosaur Espaillat, black, low-income, and Hispanic voters are not buying the message of hatred and “defund the police” by 2-percent, 10-percent, and 16-percent margins, respectively.  Another example is Spencer Pratt’s victory in the Los Angeles primary until it was whittled away by voter-harvesting.  The rousing turnout for America’s 250th birthday is another propitious sign.

Bernie Sanders issued a call to action for all Americans.  We need to respond with rapidity, strength, and reason to protect and advance the foundational principles that have made us the most successful country on Earth, so that our children will inherit the City on the Hill, not hatred and impoverishment.

Trump: Walmart to lower prices 'by a lot' at my request

United States President Donald Trump announced that Walmart "will be lowering prices, by a lot" at his administration's request.

According to the American leader, the drop in prices will correspond with the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence. "Walmart will, in particular, be dropping the price for a pound of ground beef by almost 15%, among many other products. This is a huge deal for the many millions of Americans who, smartly, shop at Walmart, which is a truly patriotic Company who loves the U.S.A," he wrote on Truth Social.

Trump also declared that "oil prices are plummeting fast" just as he had promised, as are prescription drug prices, while promising that other retailers will follow Walmart's example.

Trump admin maps out sweeping rollback of regulations in push to save $1.5T

The Trump administration on Friday laid out a sweeping deregulatory plan to eliminate over 700 rules across federal agencies.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) released its 2026 regulatory plan which covered 702 deregulatory actions, an increase from 482 in the 2025 regulatory plan released by the Trump administration.

OIRA is part of the White House's Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the agency indicated this year's unified regulatory agenda aims to rollback rules impeding economic growth.

"The North Star of this Regulatory Plan is improving the lives of Americans. At its core, this document outlines how the Trump Administration is promoting economic growth, jobs, and affordability," said Mark Paoletta, general counsel performing the duties of the OIRA administrator.

Paoletta added that OIRA estimates the 2026 regulatory plan will lead to a significant increase in regulatory cost savings above the record set last year.

"The President's bold deregulatory efforts yielded $211.8 billion in cost savings for Americans in Fiscal Year 2025 – a level of regulatory savings never before achieved in American history," Paoletta explained. "Yet Fiscal Year 2026 will go far beyond even that number with a record-setting $1.5 trillion in projected cost savings."

The 2026 regulatory plan includes a wide range of rules changes across federal agencies. For example, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signaled it will reconsider Biden-era pollution standards for light- and medium-duty vehicles, as well as repealing carbon pollution standards that affect power plants powered by fossil fuels.

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) said that it will propose a new rule covering the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that includes new requirements for retailers aimed at deterring fraud and abuse within the program.

USDA also plans to revise work requirements for able-bodied adults enrolled in SNAP, along with revising the definition of eligible foods within the program to align with the administration's nutrition goals. Food safety inspections are also to be modernized under a proposed rule that would include the removal of outdated inspection procedures

The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), which oversees export controls and looks to support national security and the defense industrial base, will implement a new framework for safely spreading U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) technology around the world.

BIS also plans to reduce export controls on drones that are provided to certain U.S. partners and allies, as well as including copper in the administration's national security tariff regime.

On The War For The Soul Of Our Nation...

 by James Howard Kusntler,

Werewolves Of London

“To use language to obscure reality is to show ‘indifference regarding the truth’ - to lie to the public and cease to treat our fellow citizens as equals.”

 - Justice Clarence Thomas

Now that the grand 250th USA birthday party is over - the speeches, the shrieking warplanes, the dazzling fireworks, the speeches and strawberry shortcake - there is only one way this thing can go. What thing? The war for the soul of the nation. Some mysterious somebody is behind the surging “Democratic-Socialist” craze. Somebody is paying for it. It’s a last-ditch drive to marshal the disaffected, under-employed young voters, choking on their college loans, deranged by anomie, and get them marching in solidarity with X-million illegal aliens to act-out an election jihad so as to squeeze out House and Senate majorities and, ultimately, wreck the nation.

That mysterious background “somebody” is not so mysterious. It just doesn’t self-identify under a banner, but you can easily tell who they are: the, the slippery closet-Marxist Barack Obama and, behind him, the American Deep State nomenklatura desperate to stay out of prison, along with the unelected EU Commission led by the grandmotherly sadist Ursula von der Leyen (plus the banksters behind her). Some call them “globalists.” They are a loose coalition of convenience against the populist threat of Mr. Trump in America and similar populist movements in Europe: AfD in Germany, the two parties of Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe in the UK, and LePen’s Nationalist Rally in France.

The EU, with its front-men Macron, Merz, and whoever will replace Starmer this month, is currently preoccupied with its stupid effort to provoke Russia into a wider war, using their proxy, Ukraine. Mr. Putin, still advancing through the Donbas, refuses to get drawn-in deeper with the EU despite the drone and missile sorties lately banging-up his oil depots. Mr. Putin is actually a defender of Western Civ — yes, ironic, isn’t it, considering what his country escaped out of in 1991 — but it’s so. Russia has become our natural ally in this struggle as the EU goes all werewolf on both Russia and us. File under strange-but-true.

Contrary to Deep State propaganda, and the IRGC’s bullshit, Mr. Trump has the Iran situation in-hand. We have bigly reduced Iran’s capacity to make trouble in the world and our satellites watch everything they do now, so there will be no Iranian military re-build, no matter how the MOU talks go. They still do have the option of dropping their jihad fixation and acting like a normal nation, but we’ll just have to stand by on that.

What has to happen now in the USA is a summer of accountability. Perp walks. Indictments. Preparation for trials. Many of you are discouraged about this, I know, but please put those black pills back in the medicine chest. Accountability is coming. The mills of the law grind slowly, and its especially difficult since the Deep State has corrupted select precincts of the law, such as the US District Court for the District of Columbia, where rogue judges Boasberg, Chutkan, Sullivan, Howell, Meta, Reyes, Cooper, et al., have made an industry of paralyzing Mr. Trump’s executive branch.

Nevertheless, accountability might also be coming for Chief Justice John Roberts, who wrote the dodgy majority opinion on the SCOTUS’s June 30 “Birth Citizenship” decision (Trump v. Barbara), an epic fail for Justice Roberts (joined by Amy Coney Barrett and the three DEI gals). The 14th Amendment was written to mitigate the disruptions of the Civil War. Section One is clearly aimed at defining the full citizenship of former slaves, and that’s all, not the offspring of casual visitors and border-jumpers. There was considerable clarifying debate on the record about all that in June, 1866, with skeletons still being cleared off the battlefields. The 2026 decision looks like a debacle for reasons also obvious.

The Chief and his harem

What motivated Mr. Roberts to do such a harm? Perhaps he’s just an idiot, but there’s more lurking there.

It’s widely known that the Chief Justice made at least one week-long visit to Norm Eisen, after Eisen had been appointed Ambassador to Prague (2011) by his law school classmate, President Barack Obama. In these final years of Obama-in-office, Norm Eisen was busy plotting so-called Color Revolution in Europe, which climaxed in the 2014 Maidan operation in Ukraine. The purpose was to make Ukraine as a proxy to weaken Russia, and would come to entail massive money-laundering and the setting up of bio-weapons labs there. This was also the period when then-Veep Joe Biden was given the “Ukraine Portfolio” and was busiest with his own grifting enterprise, through son Hunter.

Norm Eisen went on to become the chief lawfare ninja coordinating against the Trump administration with his field captains: Marc Elias, Mary McCord, Andrew Weissmann, and others. All have been involved in suspiciously seditious activities through both Trump terms. What was the Chief Justice confabbing about with Norm Eisen in Prague then? About vagaries of US / EU legal cooperation? Or were they deliberating on tactics for dealing with Barack Obama’s as-then-undeclared successor? Or possibly on bringing color revolution to the US, if Barack Obama’s posterity declared it necessary?

Consider the strange situation that one Sheldon Snook was appointed Special Assistant to Roberts in 2014. Snook is married to lawfare ninja Mary McCord, who served as Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division, DOJ (2014–2016) and Assistant Attorney General for National Security, DOJ (2016–2017). She was involved in the initiation of the RussiaGate operation and in 2019 was appointed Special Counsel to Jerrold Nadler’s House Judiciary Committee during the 2019 impeachment inquiry into President Trump — the impeachment that was all about Ukraine. . . and what might have been going on there under Obama, especially Joe Biden shenanigans.

Consider, too, that a scandal has just emerged involving CJ Robert’s wife, Jane, and the enormous commissions she received working at the DC law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and then the legal recruiting outfit Major, Lindsey & Africa (through 2019), and then legal another recruiting firm, Macrae, for placing eminent attorneys into law firms with active Supreme Court case practices. Her income from all this recruiting surpassed $10-million. CJ Roberts did not recuse himself from the cases involving these relationships. This is a still-developing story. . . .

And, of course, an investigation of California Governor Gavin Newsom begun, irony-of-ironies, by the Biden DOJ, has just blossomed into a florid scandal involving shell companies set up by Gov. Newsom’s busy wife, Jennifer, through which millions of dollars were laundered under various fake social and health service initiatives. Newsom appointee Alexis Podesta “wore a wire” during the period and is cooperating in the case. Buh-bye presidential hopes, Guv, and don’t let the cell door whack your ass on the way in.

These are just a few possible appetizers. The main course is coming up.
