Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defence said a ballistic missile was launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base on Saturday, according to the ministry's spokesperson.
The missile was fired at the military facility, located southeast of Riyadh, but landed in an uninhabited area.
The base hosts both Saudi and United States military personnel.
