'Pezeshkian: Some countries began mediation efforts'

 Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed mediation efforts on X Friday, posting that while "some countries have begun mediation," Tehran remains committed to regional, "lasting" peace but will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty. He stressed that any mediation should target "those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict."

His remarks came amid US-Israeli attacks that began days after the Geneva nuclear talks on February 26. Omani mediators reported significant progress before those negotiations collapsed. Despite Israeli claims of destroying 80 percent of Iran's missile launchers, Pezeshkian insists mediators must address those who started the conflict.
