Two oil tankers exploded and caught fire after attempting to transit a mined area in the southern Strait of Hormuz, according to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.
"The IRGC Navy unequivocally announces that the Strait of Hormuz has become highly perilous and is now fully sealed off due to the crimes of the US military," the navy said, as reported by IRNA. Once again, the navy reiterated that "not a single shipment of chemical fertilizer nor even a drop of oil or gas will be allowed to leave the region" until Washington's attacks on Iran cease.
Waves of mutual strikes between the US and Iran against infrastructure and military sites have continued throughout the day.
