Pentagon said to be in computing power talks with SpaceX

The Pentagon is in discussions with SpaceX over a potential multibillion-dollar agreement to secure computing capacity for artificial intelligence workloads, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report said the proposed arrangement would provide the Defense Department with access to SpaceX's data-center infrastructure to run AI models, though negotiations remain ongoing and no deal has been finalized. Should the agreement go through, it would further strengthen the company's relationship with the Pentagon, which already relies on SpaceX for rocket launches, satellite communications and missile-tracking services.

The development follows an earlier report that Meta is discussing a multibillion-dollar computing deal with Anthropic, which is currently using SpaceX's AI data centers.
