Iranian Armed Forces Navy launched a shore-to-sea cruise missile at a United States vessel in the northern Indian Ocean, the army's public relations office said in a statement on Friday.
"The firing of a cruise missile by the Iranian Navy has caused fear and panic among the enemy and has driven the hostile vessel away from the range of the force's brave warriors," the statement reads.
The US military has not commented on the incident so far.
