Apple Inc. is doing tests with memory chips from China amid supply struggles, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing sources.
The sources detailed that the chips from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) are being tested with iPhones and MacBooks. It was further revealed that the US tech giant held discussions with the Chinese firm over component supply.
Apple is still waiting for a green light from the White House to use these chips. Meanwhile, media reported that US lawmakers are pressuring the Trump administration to launch a probe into CXMT.
