The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is fully "disarmed" and the entire enclave is demilitarized, sources told i24NEWS following a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Board of Peace.
The meeting resulted in the establishment of two working groups, with one tasked with overseeing Gaza's disarmament, which "should be completed before any reconstruction" begins, while the second will focus on sanitation, clean water and public health issues for Gaza's population, the prime minister's office revealed in the statement.
The hours-long meeting between United States Special Envoy for Peace Jared Kushner, who serves on the executive board of the Board of Peace, and Netanyahu was described as "productive."
