Bahrain said on Saturday it would not attend any group meeting with Iran on the Strait of Hormuz until diplomatic relations between the two countries were restored, state media reported.
The Foreign Ministry said it had already conveyed the position to Oman, while stressing that any arrangement governing navigation through the strait should be based on international law and approved by the International Maritime Organization.
Bahrain also cited attacks on civilian and economic infrastructure, including the strike on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, as a reason for its position.
