Iran and Oman will brief regional countries on their consultations over safe passage for ships through the Strait of Hormuz at a meeting expected on Monday, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said.
“As part of the agenda, we are going to brief the delegations about the results of the Iran and Oman consultations regarding the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” Enamel Baghaei told Al Jazeera.
He said Tehran believed regional security should be guaranteed by countries in the region “without intervention by the foreigners, by the outside powers.”
