Russia's representative will participate in the Group of 20 (G20) summit in Houston, Texas, next week, Interfax reported on Friday.
The meeting coincides with a looming global energy crisis, amid the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Houthis seizing control of the Bab el-Mandeb strait, and Russia and Ukraine striking each other's energy infrastructure, exerting pressure on energy costs and supply.
Last month, United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov on the margins of the G20 finance ministers' and central bank governors' meeting, indicating a thaw in US-Russian relations.
