Drone show of 2,977 lights illuminates NYC skies before 9/11 anniversary

Drones lit up the Big Apple skyline ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks — at one point eerily recreating the Twin Towers, video shows.

The breathtaking show projected 2,977 lights — one for each of the victims killed in the terror attacks — against the night sky over Lower Manhattan Wednesday.

At one point, the lights joined together to replicate the “full architectural scale” of Twin Towers as they once stood in 2001, incredible footage shows.

The stunning show soared over the Harbor as the traditional “Tribute in Light” glowed from Ground Zero nearby.

Other small crafts were grounded for a few hours as the two drones flew for the “2977 Lights Over New York Harbor” installation, which was sponsored by the New York Foundation of the Arts.

It came ahead of the annual ceremony at Ground Zero marking the anniversary of the attacks on Friday.

The ceremony will take place on the hallowed grounds Friday morning, with a moment of silence coinciding with the times the planes struck the towers and the Pentagon, the times the towers collapsed and the time a hijacked flight crashed in Pennsylvania.

For the first time, the service will include a seventh moment of silence honoring those who have since died from 9/11-related illness or injury.
