Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis launched ballistic missile and drone attacks on the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Jazan on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition said.
Major General Turki al-Maliki said in a statement posted on X that “the Terrorist Houthi Militia is persisting in its heinous attacks against the Kingdom’s national assets and infrastructure.”
According to the statement, the coalition would respond to the attacks “responsibly” to protect Saudi sovereignty, national assets and civilians, adding that any response would be carried out under the right of self-defense and in accordance with international law.
