US President Donald Trump on Monday shared a Wall Street Journal article on Truth Social reporting that senior Iranian political leaders are urging an end to the war and negotiations to shore up the country’s battered economy.
Trump reposted the article, titled “Iran’s Top Politicians Urge an End to the War,” without adding any comment of his own.
The Journal said Iran’s president and parliament speaker believe Tehran needs to negotiate an exit from the conflict and strengthen the economy while it still has leverage.
Trump’s decision to amplify the report comes as Washington maintains heavy military and economic pressure on Tehran, including a maritime blockade that has sharply curtailed Iranian oil exports and broader measures aimed at isolating the country financially and commercially.
