SATS sees 'huge increase' in business due to Iran war

Singaporean air cargo giant SATS Ltd. has experienced a "huge increase" in charter flights out of the United States since the start of the war with Iran, as companies seek to repair pipelines damaged in the conflict. "Supply chain folks will always find the path of least resistance and they will go to places where it allows them to move their goods and products fast and efficiently," CEO Kerry Mok told the Financial Times in an interview.

Mok said SATS has also recorded increased demand for data center component transport, adding that "this whole AI infrastructure investment is a big tailwind for us." The world's largest air cargo handler reported an 11.3% annual jump in revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 in August, with income growing by 6%, despite rising fuel prices.
