The Mecca agreement signed by Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia last month is a “defensive alliance,” with no current plans to expand it, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.
The spokesperson was responding at a weekly briefing to a question about how Islamabad would fulfil its obligations under the accord following attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis.
