The worldwide oil demand is expected to grow by 2.4 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2027, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said in its monthly report on Thursday. The figure was revised up from 2.2 million bpd in August. The OECD countries are forecast to contribute around 0.4 million bpd, and non-OECD countries will raise their demand by around 2 million bpd.
However, OPEC revised the 2026 demand growth down to 0.4 million bpd from 0.6 million bpd in the previous report. Demand in the OECD region is seen falling by 0.1 thousand bpd, while demand in the non-OECD region will grow by 0.5 million bpd compared to 2025.
