The Houthis have continued their military advance along Yemen's coast and have captured the islands of Greater and Lesser Hanish in the Bab el-Mandeb strait in the Red Sea, an unnamed Yemeni military official told the AFP on Friday. The militants allegedly now control all islands in the strait.
"Everything that was under our control on the western coast has fallen," the official stated. Earlier today, Houthis stated that maritime navigation through Bab el-Mandeb remains safe for "all companies except for Saudi ships."
