The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Majid al-Nuzaili announced on Friday that the military began bombing the region it named the "killing box," located near the port city on Yemen's Red Sea coast, Al-Makha, also known as Mocha or Mokha, which was recently taken by the Houthis.
"We request that civilians avoid using the Taiz - Al Makha road as well as the Al Makha - Dhu Bab road. Civilians must refrain from using the prohibited roads until further notice," Al-Nuzaili said.
The Yemeni government forces previously announced they would be bombing the area and designated it a military zone yesterday, after the Houthis seized Mokha.
