UK weighs Palantir replacement for NHS contract

The UK government plans to extend Palantir's £330 million contract with the National Health Service (NHS), the country's publicly funded healthcare system, while considering British companies as possible replacements in a future bidding process, Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing several sources with knowledge.

Ministers believe ending the deal early could disrupt NHS data systems, despite criticism from Labour lawmakers and activists over the US company's role. Instead, they plan to allow Palantir to continue working while opening a new competition that could see it replaced in around two years.

The move follows Prime Minister Andy Burnham's push to give British technology companies greater priority.
