Kuwait says its dealing with drone attacks

Kuwait's Ministry of Defense said on Thursday it is working to repel drones that breached its airspace and are targeting "vital facilities." Earlier during the day, the ministry said it detected no new attacks in the past 24 hours.

The country was a frequent target of Iranian drone and missile strikes against US bases on its territory during the conflict that began on February 28. On the other hand, it remains unclear if Iran is behind the latest strikes. There have been no immediate reports of impacts or casualties.

Meanwhile, fighting continued between Israel and Hezbollah, following intense aerial attacks across Lebanon and the militant group's retaliatory rocket attacks.

Moscow stated it assumes that Ukraine would abide by the truce, according to a statement published by the Kremlin.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country was ready for a ceasefire if Russia halted its attacks.

STAAR Surgical Shares Jump on Blowout $90M Sales Outlook

STAAR Surgical STAA +24.21%  stock surged more than 25% on Thursday after the ophthalmic implant maker projected first-quarter net sales would top $90 million, more than double the year-ago period.

STAAR Surgical stock jumped as investors reacted to the unexpectedly strong preliminary outlook.

The company attributed the sharp increase largely to a recovery in China, where distributor inventory reductions had weighed on results last year. STAAR Surgical stock also benefited from continued double-digit expansion in the Americas region. STAAR Surgical stock saw improved operating leverage and cost management that are expected to lift adjusted EBITDA meaningfully.

Management noted that the sales rebound in China was accompanied by steady demand across the Americas portfolio. STAAR Surgical stock moved higher even as executives acknowledged lingering pressure from geopolitical tensions and uneven economic conditions in parts of the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Invivyd (IVVD) expands Covid Phase 3, pushes potent measles antibody toward clinic

Invivyd, Inc. provides detailed updates on its COVID-19 antibody program and unveils a new measles antibody candidate. The pivotal Phase 3 DECLARATION study of VYD2311 for pre-exposure COVID-19 prophylaxis has been upsized by about 500 participants beyond an initial 1,818, after a pre-specified, conservative, blinded sample size re-estimation showed enough events to support high-end efficacy targets. Top-line data are now expected in the third quarter of 2026, with a pediatric VYD2311 study in children 0–11 years, called DRUMMER, planned only if DECLARATION is successful. Invivyd also introduces VMS063, a highly potent, half-life-extended measles monoclonal antibody targeting the conserved Fusion protein, showing picogram- to low-nanogram-per-milliliter neutralization in vitro across key measles lineages. VMS063 has entered IND-enabling work for near-term clinical development, aimed at treatment and prophylaxis in high-risk groups amid rising U.S. measles cases and waning herd immunity.
