Saudi Arabia's defense ministry intercepted a total of 12 drones targeting the Shaybah oil field in the Rub' al-Khali, the Empty Quarter desert in the south of the country.
The ministry's spokesperson first reported the destruction of three drones heading toward the site. In a separate announcement, authorities confirmed intercepting nine additional drones in the same remote region.
