United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he will tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to try to bring energy prices down during the war against Iran.
"We'll do that," Trump stated in an interview with Cincinnati broadcaster WKRC. "I filled it up once, and I'll fill it up again, but right now, we'll reduce it a little bit, and that brings the prices down," he stressed.
Trump's comments come after the International Energy Agency (IEA) approved the release of 400 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves to address supply disruptions caused by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
