UNSC adopts resolution on Iran's Gulf attacks

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted a resolution, presented by Bahrain on behalf of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), demanding that Iran stop its attacks on Gulf nations immediately.

The resolution was adopted by 13 votes in favor and none against, while China and Russia abstained.

The text of the resolution condemns "egregious attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against" Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. It also stressed that Iranian strikes "constitute a breach of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security."
