The White House marked the 43rd anniversary of the Beirut barracks bombing on Friday, accusing Iran’s leadership of directing, financing and ordering the attack and linking it to President Donald Trump’s current confrontation with Tehran.
“43 years ago, Hezbollah terrorists attacked U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, and killed 241 Americans. We will never forget their sacrifice,” the White House said in a post on X.
“The attack was directed, financed and ordered by the same evil Iranian regime that President Trump is fighting today,” it added.
