'EU parliament urges terrorist designation for Houthis'

European lawmakers adopted a resolution on Thursday urging the European Council to designate the Houthi group's political and military wings, as well as its leadership, as a terrorist organization. The proposal also calls on the European Union to dismantle the group's financial network and to freeze all of its funds.

The European Parliament "strongly" condemned the "unprecedented missile" and "drone attacks" by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia, as well as its offensive in Yemen. The lawmakers described the attacks as "flagrant violations of international law," adding that many Yemeni civilians were forcefully displaced or killed, while "the humanitarian crisis in the country has worsened."

In addition, the Parliament also denounced the "destabilizing role" of the Iranian regime, warning that it poses a "major threat" to the security and stability of the entire region, along with its support for the Houthis, Hezbollah, and other armed groups in the Middle East.
