WH: US notified about PHP risk on October 16

 The White House announced in a statement on Wednesday that the United States government was notified of the PHP vulnerability on October 16.

Federal agencies are currently assessing any potential impacts to government systems, as well as critical infrastructure, the White House added, further mentioning that network operators are working with relevant authorities to "prioritize mitigation."

Two flaws were found in the PHP programming language, prompting governments and businesses across the globe to temporarily shut down their websites in order to protect themselves while waiting for an update, after cybersecurity experts advised them to do so.
