The shares of the American biotech company Moderna Inc. plummeted by more than 21% on Thursday ahead of the company's full Phase 3 data for Moderna and Merck's melanoma vaccine, which is set to be presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress in Madrid on October 24.
Meanwhile, investors also digested a rumoured data leak that allegedly showed the results of the clinical trials for the cancer vaccine ahead of the company's official presentation.
Moderna's stock plunged by 21.15% to go for $193.83 per share at 12:52 pm ET.
