'IAEA: Iran's Arak nuclear site severely damaged'

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed on Sunday that the Khondab heavy-water reactor, also known as IR-40, which is part of Iran's Arak nuclear complex, has been severely damaged and inoperable.

In an X post, the IAEA said that its assessment was based on "independent analysis of satellite imagery and knowledge of the installation." It added that the reactor did not contain declared nuclear material.

Previously, Tehran reported that Israel struck the reactor amid that country's and the United States' joint military operation against Iran.
