Tehran dismissed the ceasefire plan sent by the United States on Wednesday, setting up its own conditions in addition to its previous demands put forth in Geneva, Press TV reported, citing a senior political-security official.
The official underscored that Iran will end the war "when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met," not allowing the US to dictate the terms. Commenting on Washington's proposals, the official shared that Tehran sees them as "excessive" and unrealistic.
The official sketched out five conditions that could lead to the end of war, including an absolute halt to "aggression and assassinations" made by the enemy, ensuring that the war is not "reimposed," defined payment of war damages and reparations, an end to the war across all fronts and for all resistance groups in the area, and guarantees with respect to Iran's right to govern over the Strait of Hormuz.
