SLB, Nvidia Expand Collaboration on AI Use in Energy Industry

SLB and Nvidia have expanded the two companies' collaboration aiming to design and deploy AI infrastructure and models for the energy industry.

The partnership intends to help energy companies transform the vast amounts of operational data they generate across subsurface, production and energy infrastructure into helpful insights.

The companies will develop a reference environment powered by generative AI models and agentic AI that will run on SLB's digital platforms to help energy companies use AI for their data and operations.

SLB will also serve as the modular design partner for Nvidia's DSX data centers, using off-site construction to reduce costs, labor constraints and lead times in expanding data center capacity.

The relationship between the two companies began in 2008, when SLB first used Nvidia computing to enhance subsurface visualization and seismic imaging software.

In 2024, the companies announced plans to develop generative AI solutions for the energy sector.
