Microsoft Corporation released a draft of its new code of conduct on Monday, committing to impose a new set of restrictions on its artificial intelligence models in line with a set of principles the company calls Humanist AI.
"Superintelligence is the most consequential technology of our time. It will reach far beyond the scope of any one company, shaping the lives and experiences of humanity for generations to come. We’re committed to sharing transparently how we think about creating such systems and inviting input from everyone to maximize the chances that the AIs we develop avoid harm and deliver the greatest contribution to human flourishing possible," the company stated.
Microsoft's new code of conduct follows calls from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei to "slow the pace" of AI development to increasing risks, which was also supported by world's richest man, Elon Musk.
