Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday that Moscow is prepared to help find solutions to the conflict between Iran and the United States, while reaffirming Russia's commitment to expanding economic and energy ties with Tehran.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, Lavrov highlighted "great prospects" for bilateral cooperation in hydrocarbon production and transportation. He stressed that Russia would not abandon its economic and investment agreements with Iran despite regional instability, adding that Russian specialists were gradually returning to the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
Lavrov also expressed hope that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian would attend the Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit scheduled for late October in Moscow.
