Russia prioritizes expanding trade with Iran

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated on Monday that Moscow prioritizes expanding trade and economic cooperation with Tehran.

Mishustin is on a two-day state visit to Tajikistan, where he met with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Reza Aref. He stressed that mutual trade between the two countries is growing despite geopolitical challenges and "illegal sanctions imposed on both countries."

Mishustin asked Aref to convey Russian President Vladimir Putin's greetings to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
