Mastercard Inc. introduced Stablecoin Security on Monday, an intelligence solution designed to assess risk from payment initiation through on-chain movement.
The company revealed that the intelligence solution builds on Mastercard's existing capabilities and helps financial institutions identify fraud, scams, and other risk indicators in stablecoin payments. Fintech company Borderless.xyz and stablecoin firm Keyrails were listed as initial partners on the project.
"Global trade needs trusted infrastructure for stablecoin settlement ... Working with Mastercard strengthens the risk intelligence behind high-value trade payments, helping institutions move money across borders with greater visibility, confidence, and settlement certainty," Keyrails chief compliance officer Rajpal Khangura said.
Mastercard's stock lost 0.50% following the release, going for $614.12 at 12:26 pm ET.
