Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and director of the Workers' Party of Korea's General Affairs Department, said on Monday that the situation on the border with South Korea is "very unstable." She said Pyongyang is considering deploying "more tactical strike means" along the southern border, as well as resuming propaganda loudspeaker broadcasting and imposing other necessary measures.
Kim claimed South Korea engaged in "grave provocations," including 2,870 propaganda broadcasts and 201 warning shots between August 1 and October 17. She accused the current South Korean government of "openly pursuing anti-communism" while alleging it wants to pursue appeasement with North Korea. She warned Seoul against further "aggravating" the situation and threatening the safety of North Korea's border and military, stating it will "face uncontrollably terrible danger."
