South Korean shipbuilder company HD Hyundai collaborated with United States defense firm Anduril Industries to test self-navigating ship technology off the coast of California, Yonhap reported.
During the trial, a former US Navy boat utilized both companies' software systems to demonstrate remote operation capabilities, fleet coordination, and emergency responses from land.
The project is part of HD Hyundai's plan to enter the American defense market, with another unmanned vessel currently being constructed in South Korea for testing next month.
